When music isn't just music
Cory Fandel is one of those guys who genuinely wants to help create a super fun atmosphere and an environment of teamwork. I noticed this right away when working with him.
I'm one of those people who puts their all into their work. When I'm at an event and I notice work that isn't allowing for the most beautiful day ever for the bride and groom, I am going to do everything in my power to change that for them, even if it isn't "my job" and someone else is supposed to be doing their part. Why? Because it isn't about that! It's about ensuring the couple is SMILING! So when this happened at an event last year, Cory saw me working hard and offered his assistance to help me even though it wasn't "his job" either. When I meet someone likeminded who is professional, friendly, hardworking, and produces quality work, I definitely want to work with them again. And when they genuinely love their work, I want to work with them even more.
Cory says, "There is no better feeling when the bride and groom say, 'I just want everyone on the dance floor having a good time,' at their final appointment and then it’s the night of the wedding and I see just that from the DJ booth."
While some DJ businesses cater towards one culture or musical style, Cory feels that it's necessary to be able to play all genres, decades and styles effectively in order to DJ a wedding. And he loves what he does so much that he feels like it's more of a family at Elite Sound Entertainment than anything else. He loves the people he works with because they all have the same goal in mind, and they work well to push and support each other, ensure production is "on point," and manage the daily office work.
